"...But You Don't Even Look Sick!"

I found out that my heart was failing in October 2007 at 25 years old.

About me: I am 27, i live in NYC, and I am on a non-stop quest for healing.
I have a chronic illness called Scleroderma / Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. I also have a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted in my chest.

The Scleroderma has affected my heart causing it to be 70% covered in scar tissue.

The docs tell me there is no cure for Scleroderma. Yet, I am determined to cure myself.

Last Day of March - the month for Autoimmune Disease Awareness

As I have previously mentioned March was declared National Autoimmune Disease Awareness month.

As a last push, maybe we can use today to spread information. I have a SaveLaurensHeart page where I hope to gather many more fans to keep the struggles of chronic illness on the radar and hopefully one day find a cure or even spread knowledge for prevention. Please feel free to invite your friends to join the group and spread the love. I’ll keep doing my best to keep you all updated on the latest in Autoimmune Disease.

I am passionate about sharing my story. I want to raise awareness and spread my experiences far and wide in hopes of connecting with and helping others who may be going through something similar.
